FLOATLET / WHAT FLOATLET CAN DO

What Floatlet can do

Check music, file tray, clocks, calendar sync, call controls and display support, with clear release and hardware limitations.

Available in the Windows preview

  • Windows media-session metadata, artwork and advertised playback controls.
  • File references, incoming drop, outgoing copy drag and reference removal.
  • Recent saved screenshot references. Clipboard-only screenshots are not archived.
  • Volume and mute. Internal display brightness when Windows WMI supports it.
  • Nearby Wi-Fi and connections through saved profiles. New credentials use Windows.
  • Persistent timer and alarm alerts, stopwatch, five-minute calendar reminders, interactive month calendar and up to eight optional read-only Google Calendar subscriptions.
  • Microphone activity for selected apps, one endpoint mute control, Open call app and the Show calls preference. This does not identify the other caller or provide Discord deafen or hang-up.
  • Per-monitor DPI and pointer following, with a pin option and reduced motion preference.

Not implemented

Caller photos, answering and hanging up, AirPods battery values, a native ARM64 release and external monitor DDC/CI brightness. Night light, Bluetooth pairing, projection and energy saver open Windows interfaces.

What has been checked

The 0.7.0 Windows build passed seven native suites, including model, storage, integrations, calendar, clock and Search. Live caller integration and multi-monitor pointer behaviour still need device-specific validation. Calendar parsing uses synthetic events; no personal feed was supplied for account validation.

Performance, without a promise

Two short observations of 0.3.0 measured 0.199% and 0.5681% total-machine CPU, and 46.58 and 123.93 MiB private memory. Playback and pointer activity were uncontrolled. These are historical observations, not current-release benchmarks, idle guarantees or proof of battery savings.

Read the validation record. GPU activity, battery drain, complete accessibility and 120 Hz frame pacing remain unverified.

Search in the Windows preview

Search combines apps, indexed files, windows and commands. Choose Floatlet local indexing or Everything, and record a shortcut. The app uses DirectWrite text and offers a catalogue fallback for missing song artwork.

Read the Search guide and release status.
