FLOATLET / PRIVACY AT FLOATLET

Privacy at Floatlet

Know what stays, and what leaves.

Preview notice. Optional tracking is disabled. Operator contact details, hosting retention and the final public privacy notice still require owner confirmation before a production launch.

This website

The interactive preview uses invented track and file data. It does not read your media sessions, accept real files, change Windows settings or access your calendar. No account, upload form or website database is included.

Your optional privacy choice is stored in this browser as floatlet-privacy, with a policy version and timestamp. The site asks again after 180 days or a policy-version change. If storage is unavailable, it continues without remembering the choice.

Optional measurement

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not configured in this preview. No scripts or measurement requests are sent to those services. Accepting a choice does not enable an unconfigured integration. Downloads remain available after rejection.

If enabled in a future reviewed release, usage analytics and masked session replay require separate opt-in. Download clicks would measure intent, not installations. Use Privacy settings in the footer to change or withdraw your choice.

Hosting and downloads

A deployed website's hosting provider processes network requests to serve it. This website is hosted by Vercel. Its infrastructure handles IP addresses and request information to serve and secure pages. See Vercel's privacy policy for its practices; this project does not assert a specific hosting-log retention period. GitHub serves downloads and issues under its own policies. This page does not claim that those services collect no data.

The Windows app

Settings and file references stay in the local compatibility data folder. The optional Google Calendar address is encrypted with Windows DPAPI; events are fetched directly from Google over HTTPS and cached in memory. The app reads microphone session metadata, not audio samples. It does not record calls or copy messages.

Uninstall retains settings and the encrypted subscription. Disconnecting the calendar removes its saved link. Tray reference removal leaves original files intact.

Before public launch

The maintainer must confirm the privacy contact, processing responsibilities, applicable legal bases, transfers, retention, rights and complaint route. This preview is not a substitute for that completed notice. Do not post personal calendar links or sensitive information in public issues.

Artwork lookup in the development build

The app can send the current track title and artist to Apple's catalogue when browser or Apple Music artwork is missing, and download a matching cover from Apple's artwork servers. Search queries remain local.

YOUR CHOICE

A little privacy, too.

Optional measurement is disabled in this preview. Your choice never affects downloads or the demo.
